With Hardlevel reintroduce running
I know this would require a lot of effort on the devs behalf, but hear me out, running, as we all know, curtailed in nightfall and factions, it's less "nerfed" in nightfall because I can still get to a lot of places, which is REALLY nice, but it is still really frustrating when I have to go through a pair of ridiculous stressful afternoons to get my monk to vabbi <from kamadan I might note> just to cap one skill <seriously, grabbed nothing else on the way>
factions is not fun for me, excluding fort aspenwood, and urgoz's warren, btw, awesome content there, but the main part isn't "unfun" because balance, or monsters or anything, it's the mindless linear repetition
and nightfall kinda breaks that up, but not really
it was nice, with my first SERIOUS prophs character when I got into the maguuma forest, grouped with some people who were just as lost as me, and we stumbled around until we found maguuma stade, missed aurora glade, missed bloodstone, but I eventually found those, and I played them, and I enjoyed them, and I enjoyed the fact that that bit of the story suddenly made a LOT more sense
now I run, I take my ranger out in prophs and some days I'll run from ascalon to the henge of denravi, some days I'll just mow out lions arch to ToA, I do free or tips runs, or I jusst run by myself
and sometimes I do exhibition runs
I'll get a group of people willing to croak over <usually people who are also runners and have tried this> gear up in lions arch armor, and run to nebo terrace from LA with DNKP active
it is a freakin' awesome rush, it makes the game fun for me and it's a REAL honest challenge
now I've seen it said around here "flame temple corridor with level 20 monsters" do you know what a boon it would be for some of us, <there are more of us than you think btw> those of us who run because we enjoy it?
running is a skill, just like spiking, just like healing, just like any other skill, it's taken some hard bodyblows lately, skipping tedious parts of the game <I'm sorry if I have to listen to danika one more time because someone plays that damned cine I will retch> is a part of running, you can argue "you could run with all the quests done and the areas cleared in factions" but the problem then becomes, who do you joke about close calls with?
this is an important subculture in this game, and I'd like to see a revival of it <I do recognize this was rambling, I swear, this is how I think, and no, I couldn't refine it any better, read some vonnegut, it's worse\better>

Well maybe they should just introduce a racetrack, like the rollerbeatle race without the rollerbeatle.

There are some missions where running is neccesary, and in capture the flag maps, running helps a lot.
As long as 'reintroduce unning' doesn't mean 'let players skip the missions and quests' it's fine with me... one of the main flaws of Prophecies was all that running thing... sigh...

how on earth does letting other people skip effect you in the slightest?
it is their business if they wish to skip, and frankly it is a boon on a second or third character, if someone needs to do frost gate 10 times for the experience, good for them, I don't think it's reasonable for me to ever watch prince rurik die again just because I want a mesmer in addition to my other characters

Running necessary? In a mission? what? I dont ever remember running being necessary in any mission in any campaign.

I liked the aspect of Prophecies that allowed you to travel pretty much anywhere. That was really the only drawback to factions I had. Early on, after first getting the game, I was unable to advance because there was a mission that I could never find a good group to do it with. Couldn't do it with henchies, either. It was the celestial stuff. I was so frustrated because there was nothing left to do for me except that. After leaving for a few months to 55, I came back and people were more experienced and I got in on a group and we got master's with ease. But by this point, I couldn't find groups for the other missions! There was nobody to party with. That really bugged me. I have never hired a runner, but I like being able to explore further on without doing the mission in cases like what happened to me in Factions.

and i /sign it. I would be very interesting, it should include monsters, with some slow-hexes, some cripple and some degen.

No closed doors.
Factions really sucked because you were absolutely barred from deviating from the predetermined sequence. Nightfall is a little bit better, but you still have to do every primary quest and every mission to get to the next major area if you want to visit a skill trainer or cap a skill.

Yes, bring back running. I'll play through once, that is enough for me. After playing through once I want to level fast and hit the high end areas quick.
Closed doors = no more GW

Blasphemer. Death is beautifull.
And no one force you to do so. Make the character in Cantha, you'll get a lvl20 Mesmer in 2 hours.
